Civility Matters to Patient Care

Contending with patient verbal abuse, public distemper and ill-treatment from others can be especially hurtful. Such events erode trust, abolish the spirit of teamwork and can damage relationships. What begins as a blow to the self-esteem and self-confidence can lead to resentment, bitterness and staff disengagement with repeat exposure. This project, which began in 2021, will focus on spread to VJH departments and support for physicians. As of 2024/25, this project has received $57,000 in Facility Engagement (FE) funding.
