Physician Recruitment

VJH is actively recruiting physicians. This activity will allow medical staff in any VJH department to claim for their time and expenses for actively engaging prospective candidates i.e. site visits, facility tours, social engagements, and Question & Answer (Q&A) Sessions with candidates.

• A MAXIMUM OF 8 HOURS OF SESSIONAL TIME per RECRUIT is allowed.
  
• Activities such as interviewing, reference checks, orientation and on-boarding are the responsibility of the Department Head as per MSA by-laws. If the Department Head chooses to delegate this work, payment for time is paid by the Department Head.
  
• Expenses that will be reimbursed are those not already paid or reimbursed by Interior Health Authority (IHA), up to $1000 per candidate site visit. Meals will be reimbursed at a maximum of $35 per person, no alcohol and an itemized receipt must be submitted for payment.
  
• If IHA is paying for a departmental dinner for a potential candidate, sessional time cannot be claimed by those who attend.
