Quality Improvement Team
At the GMS Visioning Session in April 2026 one of the key priorities the group identified was to improve efficiencies and resource management in the hospital. Six key initiatives under this banner include:
a – Determine clear ways to flag concerns for review and a process for clear communication back to staff on changes and outcomes.
b. – Improving OR flow and access: Pilot dedicated to urgent/emergent OR model at VJH
c.-Optimize shared care pathway for patients requiring admission under orthopedic surgery.
d. – Optimize peri-operative consultation pathways (MINS, anticoagulation etc.) Engagement activity to streamline and optimize.
e.- Hip Fracture pathway order set implementation.
f. – Rethink and optimize general neurology referrals at VJH and beyond.
