Respectful Workplace Chief-of-Staff Support
The Chief of Staff role lacks the option to demand course work completion as part of the early disciplinary process with struggling physicians. Once all other avenues of support have been exhausted including peer support and secondary messenger, the Chief of Staff can engage a third party, contracted consultant to objectively discuss troublesome behaviors. This would provide support for the Chief of Staff office, provide another tool to behavior reform, and improve physician accountability. Feedback required from both the struggling physician and the Chief of Staff to determine the efficacy of this program.
